Fifty Six North's furniture has been well received at art and design exhibitions both in the UK and in Europe. Between 24 April and 8 June 2003 there is an opportunity to see selected pieces of furniture on exhibition at The Lighthouse, Glasgow - Scotland's centre for Architecture and Design.

			Fifty Six North have created a range of modular furniture based on a cuboid. Individual cuboids can form storage units or multiply to create various pieces of furniture from, coffee tables to shelving. The simple design, where form follows function has been well received at exhibitions across Scotland. It has also sold well through retail outlets.

			Contemporary furniture design lends itself to the use of modern materials such as MDF and plywood. The bed is made from birch veneered ply wood and has built in storage, the matching side tables have built in aluminium lights. The design to the bed head is kept minimal to give detail without distracting from the natural birch grain and the stripes of the ply wood edge give an attractive detail in themselves. The storage units and shelves are made from walnut veneered MDF with solid walnut used for details. The furniture sits on concealed feet to give the impression that it is floating on the floor and the quality of design, craftsmanship and the grain of the wood provide all the aesthetics the furniture needs.
